Progress has been continuing on Reading 2100 since we resumed work mid-May. Members, contractors, and volunteers have been very busy working on a variety of projects that include:

American Steam Railroad Receives Large Donation to Finish Staybolt Project

A longtime supporter of the American Steam Railroad Preservation Association has helped bring a recent fundraising campaign to a close. January 2020 Restoration Update

– Removal of the brake stand and other items attached to the cab floor. This is the first step in creating a new floor that will allow the stoker auger to be linked through the firebox door. -The continued removal of the tender brackets that are no longer needed. -The stoker auger U-bolts were removed. 2019: Year in Review

It’s been a busy year for one of the largest steam locomotive restorations in the country. American Steam Railroad’s volunteers and contractors have been making progress on Reading 2100, with volunteers contributing over 1,000 hours to the project.
